A high-mountain valley accessible only by cogwheel train. That inaccessibility is its greatest treasure: Núria is pure nature, a natural amphitheatre surrounded by 2,900-meter peaks where silence is only broken by the wind. In winter, it's a family ski resort. In summer, the starting point for spectacular hikes. The 11th-century sanctuary by the lake adds a mystical touch to the landscape. A 12-kilometer ascent by cogwheel train, crossing ravines and waterfalls. The journey is half the experience.
