The second volume of the International Women’s Film Festival returns to Barcelona this September, kicking off the autumn season. This edition spotlights filmmaker Barbara Hammer, a pioneer of lesbian and experimental cinema, through the Arxipèlag creation call. Starting in October, the touring program 'Known and Recognized' will bring recent works by Catalan directors to various municipalities, promoting cinematic decentralization. That same month, the 'Latin American Filmmakers' series focuses on current Brazilian creation, with three proposals exploring youth experiences in Brazil. In early November, in collaboration with the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the new MIFDB Documentation Centre will be presented. Finally, the 'Feminist Film Manifestos XII' series will offer screenings and a workshop on the notion of beauty and self-perception, aligning with the 'Cult of Beauty' exhibition. The festival welcomes a new generation of filmmakers revisiting and reworking the legacies of feminist struggles.
