MACBA relocates pieces from its contemporary collection to the Carles Rahola Public Library in Girona, curated by Martí Manen. The intervention places these works outside the gallery walls to establish a direct dialogue with the public and the everyday.
The venue
Biblioteca Pública Carles Rahola
Catalonia's largest library. Design, light, function.
A cubic volume defines the Carles Rahola Public Library, inaugurated in 2014. The architecture by Mario Corea Arquitectos prioritizes diffuse light, articulating rooms and three internal courtyards.
