Anselm Kiefer confronts the notion of the avant-garde artist: their role, history, myths. His work explores Germanic heritage, cultural losses, possibilities of regeneration. A constant dialogue between history and civilizations. Kiefer's vitrines encapsulate this vision. Materials like lead, cement, tree roots, or burned books combine to evoke memory, hope, loss. Objects transparent and dense, light and heavy simultaneously. La Pedrera hosts this selection from his 'Opus Magnum'. It's the first individual exhibition in Spain dedicated to this body of work: vitrines, books, installations. It also features a cycle of paintings about the poet Robert Fludd.
