An ephemeral exhibition of architectural models takes over the shop windows of various municipal markets in Barcelona. The initiative, part of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026, brings architecture closer to citizens through local commerce. Each market hosts models from architecture studios, turning commercial spaces into small exhibition rooms. The project unites the celebration of the World Capital of Architecture and the European Capital of Local Commerce. This particular stop is at Mercat d'Hostafrancs, featuring projects by Abaa Arquitectura.

THE VENUE
Erected in 1888 by Antoni Rovira i Trias, Mercat d'Hostafrancs is a testament to 19th-century iron architecture in Barcelona. Conceived to supply a booming industrial workforce, its three-nave metal structure, stone base, and exposed brick define a functional volume. Though later renovations altered its original look, the market remains a vibrant neighborhood hub, articulating commerce and social interactions. A century-old landmark, it still breathes Sants-Montjuïc's industrial past.
