José R. Pascual-Vilaplana and the Barcelona Municipal Band unearth the rituals of ancient Rome. In collaboration with ESMUC, the program clashes John Corigliano's Third Symphony 'Circus Maximus', a brutal exploration of Roman spectacle, with Ottorino Respighi's symphonic poem 'Festes Romanes', invoking ancestral celebrations. Two visions, an orchestral pulse defying time.
