The Torredembarra Lighthouse is the most recently built lighthouse in Spain. Designed by architect Josep Llinàs i Carmona, the structure is defined by its vertical, modern aesthetic that omits the traditional keeper's quarters. The building stands 38 meters above the ground, reaching 58 meters above sea level. Visitors reach an interior observation deck at 30 meters height after climbing 189 steps. The visit provides a specific perspective of the Costa Daurada over a short 20-minute route.

PLANNS' gaze sometimes extends beyond the city limits. This lighthouse, inaugurated in 2000, marks the Tarragona coast with its 38-meter tower, the tallest in Catalonia, and a contemporary design by Josep Maria Llinàs, being the last built in Spain during the 20th century.
