Since 1928, the Montjuïc Funicular has provided Barcelona's crucial vertical link to its namesake mountain. Conceived for the 1929 International Exposition, this engineering marvel by architect Ramon Reventós i Farrarons and engineer Emilio Echevarría departs from Avenida Paral·lel in Poble-sec. Its 758-meter journey ascends a 76-meter slope in about two minutes, seamlessly connecting the urban fabric with Montjuïc Park.
