Bizet — Les pêcheurs de perles. An early gem of the repertoire, here revealing its most lyrical, contemplative profile. Romanticism, desire, friendship; human fragility. Marc Minkowski and Les Musiciens du Louvre return the score to its essence. They unfurl a kaleidoscopic reading, made of breathing colors, melting phrases, a pulse evoking both sea calm and buried passion. Pene Pati embodies a vulnerable, ardent Nadir; his "Je crois entendre encore" an ethereal declaration. Elsa Dreisig, flexible and radiant, portrays a Leïla divided between faith and heart. Florian Sempey, with wounded nobility, brings to Zurga a human intensity transforming conflict into compassion. Bizet captured the intangible: the moment where love and duty, oath and desire, break each other. This concert version at Gran Teatre del Liceu, with its chamber choir and Minkowski's direction, is a meditation on memory and destiny. A song to passions born in silence. Duration 2h 30 min.
