Fundació Palo Alto presents "Món gitano", a selection of Colita's early photographs, taken between 1962 and 1963 in the gypsy neighborhoods of Montjuïc and Somorrostro. Originally commissioned for the film "Los Tarantos", this work documents life in those pre-Olympic Barcelona enclaves, contrasting the harshness of poverty with the vitality of joy, celebration, and music. Colita captured the authenticity of its inhabitants, including emerging flamenco figures like La Singla and José Menese, and the expressive gaze of children. It's a graphic study that reveals the natural gestation of flamenco in the city.
