The stretch of Leiva Street between Àliga and Hostafrancs de Sió becomes a stellar promenade. The street's decoration is the work of Escola Francesc Macià. Approach the chimney of the former "La Porcelana" Factory to discover this urban intervention.
The Planns tip
The Hostafrancs neighborhood has corners with industrial history; explore them before or after.
THE VENUE
In Plaça Joan Corrades, Hostafrancs, stands the Chimney of the old 'La Porcelana' Factory, a unique relic of Barcelona's industrial past. This post-1890 monument is the sole remnant of Catalonia's first porcelain factory, founded in 1846 by the Florensa brothers. Its exposed brick structure—square base, octagonal frusto-pyramidal body, false openings—recalls an era when ceramic production, from homeware to lightbulb components, shaped Sants-Montjuïc's development. A listed cultural asset, the chimney is a landmark connecting Hostafrancs' urban present with its manufacturing past.
