The square fills with invited groups to celebrate local tradition. Castellers de Barcelona, Castellers de Sabadell, and Castellers de Terrassa raise their human towers in a display defined by the technical coordination required to complete every structure. The Casal de Persones Grans del Casc Antic hosts this traditional exhibition in the Clot neighborhood. It is a show of collective strength that demands absolute precision from the base to the final descent.

Casal de Persones Grans del Casc Antic
Social architecture. Coexistence in the heart of Ciutat Vella.
Opened in December 2023, the Casal de Persones Grans del Casc Antic redefines social facilities in Ciutat Vella. Located in the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighborhood, this building, designed by CARLOS VALLS ARQUITECTURA + AAAR arquitectes, pioneers the integration of a senior center and temporary housing for adults at risk of exclusion. Its design, featuring superimposed volumes and shared spaces like a dining room and urban gardens, exemplifies contemporary social architecture aiming to strengthen community ties and foster intergenerational coexistence. It integrates into an environment of medieval passages, adding a new urban dynamic.
