Foto Colectania entrusts its archive to Florian Ebner. The Centre Pompidou curator proposes a new reading of the collection, seeking international visibility for Spanish photography. The project articulates two emancipations: social, photographic. It is structured in chrono-thematic chapters connecting generations, practices, and discourses. The exhibition alternates wall-mounted works with display tables. Original photographs, printed images, albums, photobooks, contact sheets. A reflection on image formats, states, and public function.
The Planns tip
The display tables invite a slower reading of the printed material.

The venue

Fundació Privada Foto Colectania
El Born: epicenter of Peninsular photography.
Nestled on the historic Passeig Picasso 14, Fundació Foto Colectania stands as a go-to hub for photography in Barcelona. Opened in 2002, this non-profit entity is dedicated to the dissemination and collection of imagery, with a keen focus on Spanish and Portuguese production since 1950. The space, housed in a 19th-century heritage building, was revamped by Jaume Pons and Pilar Líbano in 2017. It retains Catalan vaults and wrought-iron columns, setting a backdrop of understated industrial neutrality for its exhibitions and vast collection, which includes the Paco Gómez archive. Complementing its exhibition hall is a specialized library, solidifying its role in the city's visual narrative.
