Plaça de la Gardunya opens up. Young locals and neighbours reclaim the space with traditional games and open activities. A meeting point to explore, imagine, and share the neighbourhood's core. No scripts, just the impulse of play.

Escola Massana Centre Municipal d'Art i Disseny
Architecture and creation: Raval's artistic heartbeat.
Founded January 14, 1929, through Agustí Massana's legacy, Escola Massana is Barcelona's oldest public art and design hub. Its current home in Plaça de la Gardunya, opened 2017/2018, is a striking intervention by architect Carme Pinós. The 11,000 m² building engages Raval's dense urban fabric with fragmented volumes and an artisanal ceramic facade, designed to soften its impact and shield its study spaces' privacy. This experimental hub fosters interdisciplinary pedagogy across visual, applied arts, and design, solidifying its role as a key cultural benchmark for the district.
