Torre Glòries
Concrete, glass, and light: the 22@ profile.
Torre Glòries, a Sant Martí landmark since 2005, is the work of Jean Nouvel and b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos. Its 144-meter silhouette, at the entrance to the 22@ district, evokes a geyser, Montserrat mountain, and Gaudí's work. The concrete structure is clad with a double skin of aluminum and thousands of glass panels, modulating sunlight. At night, 4,500 LED devices bathe the tower in color, asserting its urban role. This bioclimatic icon houses the Mirador Torre Glòries, a cultural space with 360 views and the 'Cloud Cities Barcelona' installation.
