The Javus Quartett, young talents from Salzburg, land with a bold proposition. Marie-Therese Schwöllinger, Alexandra Moser, Marvin Stark, and Oscar Hagen trace a path through 20th-century chamber music that challenges convention. A taut dialogue between tradition and innovation resonates through Grażyna Bacewicz's String Quartet No. 3, an absolute premiere by Oscar Jockel, and the overwhelming intensity of Dmitri Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8, op. 110. Sounds that pierce the silence.
