The program traces the transition from classicism to the 20th century through works by Beethoven, Schumann and Shostakovich. Cellist Eva Arderíus and pianist Nicolàs Margarit perform pieces that examine formal balance, subjective lyricism and Russian avant-garde drama.
The Planns tip
The program links three distinct periods; reading about Schumann's Fantasiestücke helps to understand his focus on interior life.
