The traditional La Mercè Cavalcade marches through central Barcelona, from Plaça Catalunya to Plaça Sant Jaume. This year, the procession is enriched by popular culture groups from Shanghai, the guest city. You’ll see the city's geganteres troupes with their impressive figures, previously erected in Plaça Catalunya. It’s an ideal chance to enjoy Barcelona's folk culture, especially if you bring children. The parade culminates with the Rolling Lantern Show.
The Planns tip
The gegants are exhibited in Plaça Catalunya before the parade; arrive early to see them up close.
