Rising on Avinguda Diagonal, L'Illa Diagonal is a landmark of contemporary Barcelona architecture. Designed by Pritzker laureate Rafael Moneo and Manuel de Solà-Morales, this complex, opened in 1993, was envisioned as a 'horizontal skyscraper'. It redefined the urban block concept in Les Corts. Its staggered volumes and over 300-meter facade seamlessly integrate commercial space with offices, hotels, and public facilities, going beyond mere surface to engage in a dialogue with the city's fabric.
