MercèDansa celebrates Catalan traditional dance before the Barcelona Cathedral, concluding in Plaça Sant Jaume. The event revisits "danses vives" (living dances) from Catalan-speaking territories, showcasing their continuity and vitality. Music is provided by Cobla la Sabadell, led by Joan Gómez. This year, the event honors Montserrat Garrich Ribera, a key figure in Barcelona's popular culture. Dances featured include the Ball de Gitanes from Martorelles and Castellbisbal, Ball dels Nans and Ball Rodó from Menàrguens, Contrapàs from Castellterçol, Ball de Bastonets from Balaguer, Ball de Valencians from Tàrrega, and Ball del Pi from Centelles.
