Michel Camilo returns to Barcelona with his jazz trio. Eighteen years after his last appearance in the city, the Caribbean pianist performs at the Palau de la Música Catalana alongside double bassist Ricky Rodríguez and drummer Antonio Sánchez. The trio's recent history stems from a chance encounter. After a rehearsal at the Conservatori Liceu, Camilo met Antonio Sánchez. Michel's advice to Marco Mezquida —"Now that he lives here, you have to play with him. He's one of the best."—, led to a promise: Sánchez would play with Camilo. That promise now materializes on stage. The repertoire explores original compositions such as 'Caribe', 'From Within', 'And Sammy Walked In', 'On Fire', alongside jazz standards like 'A Night in Tunisia', 'Song for My Father', and 'Perdido'. A configuration of piano, double bass, and drums.

Choral Modernisme.
Nestled in Sant Pere, Ciutat Vella, the Palau de la Música Catalana stands as a Modernisme icon. Designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner (1905-1908) for the Orfeó Català choir, its iron and glass structure lets natural light flood an interior rich in mosaics, stained glass, and sculptures. It's a masterclass in applied art; every detail, from floral motifs to the sun-emulating skylight, crafts a unique sensory experience. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it's an unmissable cultural hub in the city.
