  • Funicular de Montjuïc -TMB

The Montjuïc Cable Car travels 750 meters through the air, connecting the funicular station to the mountain's peak. The eight-person cabins offer a bird's-eye view of the port's industrial architecture and the silhouette of the Sagrada Família. The ride tracks the unbroken line of Barcelona's coastline from a high vantage point. The route ends at the Castell de Montjuïc fortress.

The Planns tip

Cabins hold eight people, so expect to share the space with other groups during the ride.

Funicular de Montjuïc -TMB

1928 engineering, Montjuïc's urban heartbeat.

Since 1928, the Montjuïc Funicular has provided Barcelona's crucial vertical link to its namesake mountain. Conceived for the 1929 International Exposition, this engineering marvel by architect Ramon Reventós i Farrarons and engineer Emilio Echevarría departs from Avenida Paral·lel in Poble-sec. Its 758-meter journey ascends a 76-meter slope in about two minutes, seamlessly connecting the urban fabric with Montjuïc Park. Renovated for the 1992 Olympic Games, it integrated into the public transport system, making cultural and sports landmarks like the Joan Miró Foundation and the Olympic Ring easily accessible.
