Parc del Laberint d'Horta
Horta Labyrinth: Where neoclassicism weaves myth.
Barcelona's oldest garden, Parc del Laberint d'Horta, was established between 1791 and 1808 by Marquis Joan Antoni Desvalls. Initially designed by Italian architect Domenico Bagutti, it blends an 18th-century neoclassical garden, themed around love and Greco-Roman mythology, with a 19th-century romantic section hinting at death. Its centerpiece is a 750-meter cypress maze, guarded by mythological sculptures, including Eros at its heart. Located in the Horta-Guinardó district, this space has operated as a garden-museum since 1971, preserving its original layout and landscape narrative.
