The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) in Poble-sec revisits its own history with the exhibition "Recovered from the Enemy". The show focuses on works deposited by the Francoist National Heritage Defense Service (SDPAN), a legacy that fell into the hands of the victors after the Civil War. 135 pieces are displayed, reflecting the diversity of their origins and the new political order also imposed in the artistic sphere. This project, a continuation of "Museu en perill!", is part of a necessary policy of memory and transparency, and represents a research effort that will be developed in the museum's future expansion.
The Planns tip
Visit the MNAC on a weekday for a quieter experience and to observe the details of each piece.
