The Sant Andreu Jazz Band celebrates two decades with their annual concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana. An ambitious proposal: a journey through the history of big band jazz. From pre-swing and swing by Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, to bebop with Dizzy Gillespie or Charles Mingus, and contemporary names like Maria Schneider or the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra. Twenty key formations mark this musical route. Under the direction of Joan Chamorro, the SAJB presents its peak form. Koldo Munné, Elsa Armengou, Luc Martín, Gael Gassiot, and Èlia Bastida are among the invited musicians completing the lineup for this night.

The venue

Palau de la Música Catalana
Choral Modernisme.
Nestled in Sant Pere, Ciutat Vella, the Palau de la Música Catalana stands as a Modernisme icon. Designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner (1905-1908) for the Orfeó Català choir, its iron and glass structure lets natural light flood an interior rich in mosaics, stained glass, and sculptures. It's a masterclass in applied art; every detail, from floral motifs to the sun-emulating skylight, crafts a unique sensory experience. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it's an unmissable cultural hub in the city.
