Sant Pau: The Rediscovered Masterpiece invites you to tour the architectural complex designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. This Modernista site, declared a World Heritage site in 1997, has left its hospital function behind to house institutions dedicated to health, sustainability, and education. The visit moves through the pavilions, defined by a constant use of mosaics and sculptures. It is a cluster of buildings set within interior gardens that define the architecture of the era.
The Planns tip
The site is expansive and the visit takes place mostly outdoors between pavilions.
The venue

Sant Pau Recinte Modernista
Modernist Legacy, Knowledge Campus.
In the Guinardó neighborhood, the Sant Pau Recinte Modernista stands as a fundamental architectural complex by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Built between 1902 and 1930, it was conceived as a hospital garden-city, pioneering hygienist theories and patient well-being. This complex, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997, features 27 pavilions interconnected by underground tunnels and surrounded by gardens. The profusion of ceramics, stained glass, and mosaics narrates its history and the vision of its creator. After a century of healthcare activity, its rehabilitated pavilions now house a vibrant research and culture campus, home to various international organizations and a space open to the public.
