Escola Lluís Vives
Noucentisme & pedagogy: a historic legacy in Sants.
Nestled on Carrer de Canalejas 107, in the heart of Sants-Badal, Escola Lluís Vives stands as a beacon of Catalan Noucentisme. Designed by architect Josep Goday i Casals, its symmetrical façade, adorned with sgraffiti, and open courtyards reflect the pedagogical reform ideals of the 1920s. Opened in 1931, just days before the Second Republic was proclaimed, its construction was a result of neighborhood demands for quality public education, solidifying a cultural and educational legacy in the Sants-Montjuïc district. The school is listed as a Local Cultural Asset and is part of Barcelona's Network of Historic Schools.
