Masia Ca l'Armera
Neoclassical remnant of Barcelona's agricultural past.
Masia Ca l'Armera, also known as Can Ros, stands out in the el Congrés i els Indians neighborhood as an architectural and cultural landmark. Its foundations, possibly on Roman vestiges, date back to the 16th century. Rebuilt in 1714 with neoclassical standards after its destruction, it retains Gothic elements and original 18th-century interior decoration. It was an economic and social hub in the area until 1952, when the Ros family ceded extensive lands for the surrounding urbanization, giving rise to the current el Congrés neighborhood. Today, this farmhouse, listed as a cultural asset of local interest, is one of the last testaments to rural life in Sant Andreu, a historical counterpoint to Barcelona's urban development. Its square plan, galleries, and chapel reflect a preserved architectural authenticity.
