Parròquia de Sant Genís dels Agudells
A 931 Legacy: Living history and a century-old cemetery.
In its namesake neighborhood, the Parròquia de Sant Genís dels Agudells is one of Barcelona's ten oldest temples, first documented in 931. Rebuilt in 1671, the current structure boasts a single nave, a transept, and a 17th-century bell tower topped with a pyramidal glazed ceramic roof. The adjacent rectory retains 17th-century elements. Plus, the grounds feature one of only two active parish cemeteries in the city – a unique vestige of Horta-Guinardó's rural past.
