The atomic age never ended. Since 1945, its imprint defines science, politics, and culture. This exhibition charts a complex path through this impact, via 20th and 21st-century art. It begins with late 19th-century physics deconstructing the atom, moving to artistic responses to the atomic bomb. A journey encompassing critiques of civil and military nuclear energy, driven by counter-movements: ecology, feminism, anti-colonialism. The show addresses current challenges, from Chernobyl and Fukushima, to debates around the 'nuclearization of the world' and Spain's nuclear history. Nearly 250 works —paintings, drawings, photographs, videos, installations— by artists like Dalí, Duchamp, Yoko Ono, Chillida, or Hilma af Klint. An essential dossier on fractured time.
