“The Cult of Beauty” examines the evolution of this concept, revealing its philosophical, cultural, artistic, and scientific dimensions. The exhibition challenges the idea of an eternal aesthetic hierarchy, showing how canons of physical attractiveness shift, while the pursuit of beauty persists. A space to explore the coexistence of opposites: the beautiful and the ugly, the natural and the artificial, the physical and the digital. It focuses on the tension between norm and transgression, celebrating what beauty means for diverse communities, often excluded from the traditional canon. Historical objects, documents, and contemporary works dialogue on morality, status, gender, and race. Features pieces by William Hogarth, Angelica Dass, Laura Aguilar, Isidre Nonell, Colita, Esther Ferrer, and Marina Vargas, among others. An adaptation of Janice Li's original exhibition at the Wellcome Collection in London. Curated by Janice Li, blanca arias, and Júlia Llull Sanz.
