The Nou Barris District Headquarters hosts the exhibition "The Right to the City: The Mountain Neighborhoods from Sant Genís to Trinitat Nova." Curated by Fernando Marzá and Neus Moyano, the show examines the recent history of neighborhoods on the slopes of Collserola, analyzing how topography, infrastructure, and urban planning decisions have shaped daily life. Through images and accounts of neighborhood struggles, the exhibition asserts the "right to the city" as a collective achievement, addressing mobility, decent housing, health, education, and cultural services. It displays images of 1960s housing developments and self-built homes, alongside the memory of protests against the 1953 Regional Plan and the urban transformation of Trinitat Nova. The tour also explores the area's healthcare potential, from Vall d'Hebron to the Mundet campus, and educational milestones.

Seu del Districte de Nou Barris
Pioneering architecture, lingering memory.
The Nou Barris District Headquarters occupies the remaining pavilions of the former Institut Mental de la Santa Creu. Inaugurated in 1889 and completed in 1915, this complex—a work by Dr. Emili Pi i Molist and architect Josep Oriol i Bernadet—was a benchmark in European hospital architecture of its time. Conceived with symmetrical pavilions and landscaped courtyards, it implemented innovative therapies. Today, its walls house the district administration and the Nou Barris Library, preserving a key piece of heritage in a neighborhood with a strong working-class identity.
