Casino de l'Aliança del Poblenou
Poblenou's cultural legacy, since 1869.
At Rambla del Poblenou 42, the Casino de l'Aliança del Poblenou stands as a cultural landmark in Sant Martí. Founded in 1869 as a recreational, social, and mutual aid entity, its current eclectic and neoclassical-inspired headquarters was completed in 1944, designed by Amadeu Llopart. Beyond its architectural merit, it's been a vital hub for neighborhood life, pioneering initiatives like the first private savings bank and local library. Its iconic Grand Hall, featuring a tilting auditorium floor and a cork ceiling for distinctive acoustics, hosts a program spanning theatre, dance, and music, cementing its role as a cultural driving force in Poblenou.
