A multidisciplinary documentary theatre piece arrives at Sala Fènix, in the heart of Barcelona's Raval. "Trampantojo, or the Telling of Spain's History" by Maria Villarejo Barberà delves into historical memory and identity, with a core emphasis on Andalusian music of Sephardic roots. It aims to disseminate the peninsula's Islamic and Jewish heritage, a legacy often suppressed. The staging blends dance, live singing and music, text, and physical and visual theatre in an intimate format. It acts as a bridge to Al-Andalus, showcasing the territory's historical cultural diversity and questioning how a distorted view of the past impacts society. Performances at Sala Fènix, located on Carrer Riereta.
