At GV. Corts Catalanes 595, Barcelona, "Verborrea", the play by Pablo Remón, takes the stage. Structured like a cassette tape with side A and side B, it recounts the rise and fall of a punk band from the late 80s and early 90s. The piece explores the lives of two brothers, sons of a Francoist civil servant, through monologues and intersecting voices. Side A focuses on the childhood and rebellion of the singer, Segis, influenced by punk, anarchy, and nihilism as an escape from a grey reality. Side B details the ascent and decline of the band Verborrea and its vocalist, now a mythical and contradictory figure. "Verborrea" is a tragicomedy about the creation and deconstruction of myths, tinged with rawness and poetry.
The Planns tip
The monologues cross different viewpoints, creating an oral narrative akin to a music documentary.
