The OBC, under Pietari Inkinen’s direction, presents a program of sharp contrasts. Richard Strauss bursts forth with the energy of Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks and the virtuosity of his Burlesque for piano and orchestra, performed by Saskia Giorgini, L'Auditori's resident artist. The finale is a release of tension: Henk de Vlieger's orchestral version of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, pure dramatic intensity.
