The venue
Opened in 1854, the Antiga Estació de Rodalies Sant Andreu Comtal stands as a milestone in Spanish railway history, for years the country's oldest operational rail building. Its functional, single-story, English-style square architecture connected the then-municipality of Sant Andreu with Barcelona, driving its shift from a rural to an industrial economy. After 168 years of uninterrupted service, it ceased rail operations in December 2022. Its future now redefines as a municipal cultural hub at Plaça de l'Estació 1. The Germandat Andreuenca will house the neighborhood's festive imagery here, securing a new space for local popular traditions. A tangible testament to Sant Andreu's urban and cultural evolution.
