The venue
Perched atop Turó de la Rovira, in El Carmel (Horta-Guinardó), the Bunkers del Carmel offer a 360-degree panorama of Barcelona. Built 1937-1938, these concrete platforms served as key anti-aircraft batteries during the Spanish Civil War, shielding the city from bombings. Post-conflict, the site housed "Els Canons," a shanty town dismantled in 1990. Today, it’s a vibrant meeting point, a testament to a complex history—from defense outpost to public viewpoint. MUHBA panels contextualize its historical and social significance.
