The venue
At Ronda Guinardó 49, Casa de les Altures, a Neomudéjar landmark in Baix Guinardó, was built in 1890 by Enric Figueres. Originally the residence of Nicolau Recúlez, director of the General Water Society of Barcelona, its name refers to the elevation engines that pumped water here to the Can Baró reservoirs. After serving as a children's colony and a hydrological research center, the City Council acquired it in 1984. Víctor Argentí's restoration, awarded a FAD in 1990, transformed it into the current headquarters of the Horta-Guinardó District.
