Casa Estapé

Martorell Modernism: a workshop's crowning dome.

  • el Fort PiencPg Sant Joan 6

The venue

In the heart of Fort Pienc, Eixample, Casa Estapé stands as a beacon of orthodox Barcelona modernism. Designed in 1907 by Bernardí Martorell i Rius, its facade blends reddish stucco with exposed brick, adorned with floral sgraffito and wrought iron balconies. A unique dome, a later addition commissioned by architect Jaume Bernardes for his workshop, crowns the building. Covered in white, green, and blue glazed tiles, topped by an iron cross, this silhouette redefines the urban profile of Passeig Sant Joan 6, a true local cultural landmark.
