The venue

At Montsió 3, Casa Martí, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch in 1896, showcases Modernista style with Central European Neo-Gothic features. Its ogival arches and wrought-iron elements evoke a medieval castle aesthetic. On its ground floor, Els Quatre Gats, opened in 1897, became a cultural epicenter of Catalan Modernisme. It was a meeting point for figures like Pablo Picasso (who held his first exhibition there), Ramon Casas, and Santiago Rusiñol, hosting tertulias, art shows, and music that defined Barcelona's avant-garde in the Barri Gòtic.
