The venue
In Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, Casa Parés unveils a chapter of industrial Barcelona. Founded in 1875 by Jaume Parés Morros, this former rolling and stamping foundry operated until the early 21st century. It specialized in lead and tin, crafting everything from seals to medals. Its closure in 2007 froze time; the space preserves its original machinery intact: a 19th-century German rolling mill, marking machines, and a smelting furnace. More than a building, Casa Parés is a tangible piece of Ciutat Vella's manufacturing history, an enclave where artisanal labor endures within its walls. Currently, a musealization project transforms it into a hub for art and memory, a re-envisioned industrial stronghold.
