The venue
At Baixada de la Llibreteria 7, Cereria Subirà stands as Barcelona's oldest shop, founded in 1761. Its current location, occupied by the candle shop since the early 20th century, preserves 1847 baroque ornamentation, originally designed for a textile store. The interior reveals a bifurcated imperial staircase and baroque columns, guarded by two female sculptures that once held gas lamps. This iconic establishment, a candle supplier to the Sagrada Família, keeps the artisan wax tradition alive in the heart of the Barri Gòtic.
