The venue
Nestled on the slopes of Collserola, in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, lies Colònia Busquets, a distinctive collection of modernist-style houses. Conceived in 1907 by decorator Joan Busquets, it emerged as a summer residence enclave for Barcelona's bourgeoisie, its architecture blending seamlessly with Vallvidrera's natural surroundings. By 1912, these buildings were established, but their significance dramatically expanded during the Civil War, transforming into a refuge for evacuated children, earning it the nickname "El poble dels nens" (The Children's Village). Its modernist structures remain a testament to pioneering design and a story of resilience and humanity within the metropolitan landscape.
