The venue
Designed by Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia and built between 1920 and 1930 in Sant Genís dels Agudells, the Edifici Patronat Ribas is a prime example of late Noucentisme. Originally an orphanage for workers' children, it featured an advanced pedagogical vision with innovative facilities like a cinema and labs, applying the Montessori method. Its survival, now as IES Vall d'Hebron, is thanks to active community defense that prevented its demolition. Listed as a Local Cultural Asset, the building's relevance is anchored in its history of service and adaptation in Horta-Guinardó.
