The venue
The Edifici Talaia, an imposing structure where Diagonal meets Sarrià, defines a landmark in Les Corts' urban landscape. Designed by Frederic Correa and Alfons Milà (1966-1971), this residential skyscraper is a key exponent of brutalism and the "Escola de Barcelona". Awarded the FAD prize in 1973, its design embodies architectural avant-garde through concrete and precise lines. Towering over seventy meters, its 21 apartment floors introduced a residential model inspired by American skyscrapers. Its distinct floor plan, nearing a swastika, and a reinforced concrete structure with modular enclosures emphasize its contained verticality.
