The venue
Where Berlín and Marquès de Sentmenat streets meet, Les Corts hosts the Vertical Garden. This intervention transformed an exposed party wall into an urban ecosystem. Commissioned by Barcelona City Council's Urban Landscape Institute, and inaugurated in 2010 by Capella García Arquitectura, it's a 'vegitecture' landmark. Its approximately 250 m² of vegetation, supported by a metallic structure with balconies, acts as an air filter and wildlife refuge, enhancing the district's environmental quality. A botanical solution proving urban fabric regeneration.
