The venue
On Montjuïc's west flank, El Polvorí and Guardhouse stand as 18th-century vestiges. Part of Castell de Montjuïc's military infrastructure, these stone structures, built in 1733 after the War of the Spanish Succession, showcase functional architecture with buttresses and a hipped roof. The gunpowder magazine, a 600m² rectangular hall, stands out with its arches and six interior columns. Rebuilt in 1849 and renovated in 2005, the space now hosts Teatro de los Sentidos, a convergence of historical memory and contemporary expression in the Marina de Port neighborhood. The former guardhouse now houses a local school.
