The venue
On Rambla del Carmel, find the 'David & Goliath: Homage to the International Brigades' sculpture. American sculptor Roy Shifrin unveiled this work on October 28, 1988. Funded by the Spanish Civil War Historical Society and the Abraham Lincoln Battalion, this bronze monument marks 50 years since the International Brigades' departure. It depicts David's torso on a concrete pedestal, with Goliath's figure at its base. A plaque at its feet features excerpts from Dolores Ibárruri, 'La Pasionaria''s, farewell speech. Every last Saturday of October, the site hosts a tribute, cementing its status as a historical memory landmark in the Horta-Guinardó district.
