The venue
The Sant Pere Monastery Church, also known as Sant Pere de les Puel·les, stands in the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighborhood of Ciutat Vella. Founded in 945 as Barcelona's first Benedictine convent for women, this monument has withstood sieges, fires, and renovations throughout the centuries. While today it presents a restored Romanesque profile, with Gothic elements and a surviving octagonal bell tower, its walls narrate the city's complex evolution. It represents a historical anchor point, where architectural stratification reveals the pulse of medieval Barcelona. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1931.
